On Wednesday 30 September 2026, at the invitation of the Head of the 4th General Lyceum of Corfu, Mr Georgios Kefallonitis, Nikolaos Korfiatis, Professor at the Department of Informatics of the Ionian University, presented to the school’s teaching staff the latest developments in agentic artificial intelligence and the ways in which they can be put to use in teaching practice.
Agentic AI refers to systems that do not stop at answering questions but plan and carry out complex tasks with a growing degree of autonomy, drawing on digital tools and information sources. This shift opens new possibilities and raises new questions for the classroom, which already concern teachers at every level of education.
The event is part of the outreach activities of the Ionian University, which seeks continuous dialogue and cooperation with the community of Corfu and the Ionian Islands. The Department of Informatics remains committed to supporting the local education community, bringing the knowledge and experience of its research and teaching to the schools of the island.
The cooperation with the 4th General Lyceum of Corfu is expected to continue with further activities involving the school’s students.
