Ο Παρασκευάς Δημητρίου αναγορεύτηκε διδάκτορας του Τμήματος Πληροφορικής του Ιονίου Πανεπιστημίου (2025), με επιβλέποντα τον Καθηγητή Βασίλειο Καρυώτη και διατριβή για μεθόδους εξελικτικής υπολογιστικής στην πρόβλεψη συνδέσμων σε σύνθετα δίκτυα. Η έρευνά του συνδυάζει γενετικούς αλγορίθμους, προσαρμοστικούς δείκτες ομοιότητας και γενετικό προγραμματισμό, με εφαρμογές σε προβλήματα ανάθεσης στις ανθρωπιστικές εφοδιαστικές αλυσίδες.
